When this Privacy Statement applies
Christie Innomed Inc. and its affiliates (“Christie Innomed”) develops, distributes, and supports innovative medical imaging equipment, and software solutions for innovative information management. Our customers are healthcare service organizations and healthcare providers. We do not provide direct patience care. 

This Privacy Statement applies when we collect and process personal information for use in our own business activities, such as personal information collected through this website, sales and support to our customers, marketing to our prospective and other business activities described in this Privacy Statement. 

Our customers are the custodians of their client personal information that they collect and process through the products and services we provide or support. Our customer’s privacy policies apply to the information that they collect and process through that equipment or solutions.

Our privacy compliance framework and accountability
Christie Innomed has appointed our General Counsel as the Privacy Officer, responsible for overseeing our compliance with this Privacy Policy and our practices relating to privacy of personal information. We maintain a framework for the protection of any personal information that we collect. The framework includes policies and procedures designed to help us comply with this Privacy Statement. This framework requires all employees to protect the confidentiality of any personal information that we handle through the lifecycle of that personal information. The privacy framework includes employee codes of conduct, breach reporting obligations, data retention and destruction policies, employee training, and procedures for addressing complaints and providing individuals with access to their personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

Notice to Quebec residents
If you are a resident of Quebec and we collect personal information about you in Quebec, that information will be communicated outside of Quebec to other locations in Canada, the United States, and other places where we or our service providers process your information.

Types of personal information that we collect
Depending on why you engage with us, we may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal information. Examples are:

  • Contact Information – full name and title, postal address, email address and telephone number.
  • Work Profile Information (if you are a current or prospective customer or vendor) – your role within your organization, interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses.
  • Employment Applicant Information (if you are applying for a job with us) – information that you provide to us or that we otherwise collect in the course of evaluating your eligibility for employment including education and qualifications, employment history and experience, references and background check information (including in some cases criminal history), voluntary self-disclosure information relating to demographics and disability status, government identification and eligibility to work, and other information that you voluntarily provide during the hiring process.
  • Transaction Details – details of products and services you have purchased from us on behalf of your organization. This may include personal bank account or payment card details if you are a sole proprietor or purchasing on behalf of your business.
  • Technical Data – internet protocol (IP) address, login details, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system and platform, date/time stamp, and other technology on the devices you use to access our website.
  • Usage Data – data about how you use our website and cloud-based services, including features of functions accessed and clickstream data.
  • Marketing and Communications Information – your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties, your communication preferences, your interactions with our advertisements and newsletters, your attendance at our events.
  • Audio/Video Recordings – recordings from live or virtual events and recorded meetings.

Aggregated data and analytics
We also collect, use and share data that has been aggregated or turned into a statistical form, for any purpose. This data can no longer be used to reveal your identity directly or indirectly. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature.

How we collect your personal information
We collect personal information in a variety of ways. Some of these means of collection may not apply to you depending on commercial relationship. 

  • Direct interactions – when you access our contact us, subscribe to our marketing materials, send us feedback, complete surveys or apply for employment. 
  • Your organization, our business partners and trade events – people in the organization you work for, our business partners, trade events and conference providers and other third parties may provide us with information about you for us to communicate with you, register you for our services or events, or provide you with training or support.
  • Recruiters, references, and background check providers– when providing us with information about candidates for a position with our company.
  • Publicly available sources – public internet websites and databases such as LinkedIn, company registries and news media for the purposes of identifying potential customers and to communicate with potential customers.

  • Ad tech companies and analytics providers – Technical Data from providers of third-party cookies and online advertising who help us understand the effectiveness of our website and our digital advertising.

Call recording
When we have a telephone or video call or meeting with you, we may record and transcribe these calls. We will notify you before audio / visual recording occurs. We make call recordings for internal training and sales analysis purposes and to provide you with a record of demos. The length of time that we retain recordings depends on the nature of the call and the purposes of the recording. See Data Retention.

Marketing communications
We may use your personal information to send you information (by email, text message, telephone or post) about our products and services, including new features, functions, offerings and business partners. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing communications at any time by following the opt-out links on any communications sent to you or Contact us.

Cookies, profiling technologies and online advertising
We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small text file which is placed onto your device (e.g., computer, smartphone or other electronic devices) when you use our website. Cookies and similar technologies help us recognise you and your device and store some information about your preferences or past actions. Data security
We employ administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure / communication, copying, use, or modification. 

The types of safeguards that we employ and that our service providers employ depend on the sensitivity of the information. Examples of how we protect your personal information include:

  • employee privacy and security training
  • restricting access to personal information to employees who need access to it
  • technical measures such as encrypted connections, strong passwords, multifactor authentication (where feasible), firewalls and other technical security tools
  • physical measures such as locked storage areas and restricted access to our offices and other areas where personal information is stored
  • background checks of employees in line with the sensitivity of the information those employees will be handling and provincial laws governing when we can do background checks
  • requiring service providers who will handle your personal information on our behalf to commit to safeguard your personal information when they enter into contracts with us

Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purpose of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect of our relationship with you.

Processing locations for personal information
Our preference is to store and use your personal information in Canada. However, this is not always feasible. Our service providers may be located outside of Canada, or they may store and process data outside of Canada. If that is the case, then your personal information may be transferred to other countries. 

Although we employ contractual protections when we transfer personal information to other countries and we consider the protections offered under the laws of the other country, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will receive equivalent protection when transferred.
