Summary:

The Clinical Application Specialist will play a crucial role at Christie Innomed, acting as a trusted expert in supporting the Fujifilm Synapse Pathology solution for clinical, commercial and technical aspects. This role is essential for driving client success by facilitating effective solution implementation, sales support, and ongoing clinical training. In collaboration with sales teams, project managers, and technical specialists, the Clinical Application Specialist will ensure that customer needs are met with precision, ultimately enhancing our sales efforts and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

Clinical Support and Sales Enablement

  • Serve as the primary clinical resource for the Fujifilm Synapse Pathology solution, supporting the sales team in communicating clinical benefits and product value to potential customers.
  • Assist in pre-sales activities, including demonstrations, clinical consultations, and responding to product-related inquiries, to support new business and customer retention.
  • Participate in the development of clinical materials that effectively convey the product’s advantages for pathology departments.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide advanced technical and clinical support for the Fujifilm Synapse Pathology solution, ensuring swift issue resolution to minimize customer impact.
  • Collaborate with Fujifilm’s technical team to address escalated issues and maintain effective communication on product updates and troubleshooting procedures.

Implementation and Customer Training

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and clinical validation of the Fujifilm Synapse Pathology solution at customer sites, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Conduct in-depth training for pathologists and lab staff to maximize their understanding and utilization of the solution, fostering clinical proficiency and adoption.
  • Develop and continuously update training materials to keep end-users informed on best practices and product enhancements.

Project Management Support

  • Support project management teams by providing clinical expertise in planning and executing digital pathology projects.
  • Identify potential implementation obstacles and proactively address them to maintain project timelines and client satisfaction.

Customer Relationship and Clinical Advisory

  • Establish and maintain strong clinical relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor for their ongoing needs and solution optimization.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups and site visits to assess customer satisfaction, provide refresher training, and identify opportunities for expanded solution use.

Continuous Learning and Improvement

  • Stay updated on digital pathology trends, clinical workflows, and emerging technologies to inform service improvements and share insights with the team.
  • Provide feedback to product and technical teams on potential improvements based on clinical insights and user experiences.

Job requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Biomedical Science, Medical Technology, or related field. Certification in pathology or medical imaging is a strong asset.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a clinical support role, ideally within digital pathology, medical imaging, or healthcare IT.
  • Prior experience in sales support or customer-facing roles within the medical field is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex healthcare software solutions, with knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and related healthcare standards.
  • Understanding of digital pathology workflows and the clinical environment, with familiarity in network configurations and system integrations.
  • Ability to analyse situations, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Capacity for strategic thinking/planning as well as tactical implementation.
  • Strong computer skills (i.e., Windows based OS and system driver installation, skilled with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-mail).
  • Knowledge of Anatomical Pathology, Histology, and laboratory services is strongly desired.
  • Experience with LIS or LIMS systems is highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate clinical concepts to various audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively in a dynamic environment.

Travel

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across Canada to provide on-site support, training, and relationship management.
